DICKIES CANADA INTRODUCES NEXT GENERATION OUTERWEAR FOR COLD WEATHER WORKERS

From road crews to crossing guards, postal carriers to construction workers, thousands of Canadian workers toil outside in the thick of winter, doing their best to stay warm.

Thanks to Dickies Canada Co., famous for manufacturing workwear of the highest standards, they’ll be able to stay warmer this winter with Dickies® new line of garments made with a remarkable technology called Re-tain™. Dickies has partnered with Arctic Shield®, the developers of Re-tain, to bring this new collection of outerwear to the cold weather workplace.

Dickies Arctic Shield garments provide outdoor workers with superior on-the-job comfort, regardless of sub-zero and windy conditions. Unlike traditionally thick insulations that merely slow heat loss, Re-tain’s thin multi-layered thermal barrier captures and reflects up to 97 per cent of body heat. Breathable and non-bulky, Dickies Arctic Shield garments will enable workers to work outdoors in low temperatures for extended periods of time. And as an added bonus, all Dickies Arctic Shield garments are water-resistant.

“We’re workwear experts and constantly look for ways to help workers have the best possible clothing for outdoor work,” said Kirk Ehrlich, president of Dickies Canada Co. “By teaming up with other innovative companies, such as Arctic Shield, we’re able to develop better performing products for people whose jobs require them to spend a good part of their lives in workwear. Coming up with outerwear that is less bulky, lighter weight and more efficient in cold weather is a real service to anyone who works outdoors in the winter.”

Dickies Arctic Shield styles will include a Nylon Taslan Jacket and Vest, a Cotton Duck Coat and Hooded Jacket, and Cotton Duck Coverall and Bib Overall. Dickies Arctic Shield garments will be available in September through Sears Catalogue, selected Wal-mart stores, and other workwear retailers across Canada, including Dickies’ Hanover, Ont., outlet store.
