SOPREMA’S XPRESS EPS CUTS CONSTRUCTION STEPS

Soprema’s Xpress EPS factory-laminated panels reduce multiple roofing installation steps to just three – vapour retarder, Xpress EPS and cap sheet. Xpress EPS is an all-in-one insulation, overlay board and base sheet. The EPS insulation (ranging in thickness from one-and-one-half-inch- to seven-inches depending on the R-value requirement) is laminated to one-half inch of mineral wool and a polyester-reinforced SBS modified bitumen base sheet membrane. Each light-weight Xpress EPS panel is folded in a three- by eight-foot segment, which opens into three- by 16-foot section covering 48 sq. feet for fast, clean installation with mechanical fasteners – eliminating hot asphalt odors.

Installation time and costs are reduced with Xpress EPS. A crew of four installers can complete a 1200 sq. foot section of roof, including Sopravap’R vapour barrier, Xpress EPS and cap sheet in an hour. Many buildings can have a watertight covering in a single day, allowing other construction trades to proceed with work even in wet weather.

Xpress EPS, with either a sanded or thermofusible film surface, allows selection of the cap sheet installation method most appropriate to site conditions: self-adhesive, cold adhesive, heat-welding or mopping with SEBS asphalt.

Soprema ensures that Xpress EPS retains its quality and integrity until used. The panels are shrink-wrapped to give maximum protection from moisture and UV rays during transportation and on-site storage.
