Grace Construction Introduces Procor Composite Waterproofing System
Grace Construction Products recently unveiled the newest addition to its waterproofing products – the Procor® Composite waterproofing system.
The enhanced Procor system combines Procor 75 fluid-applied membrane with Procor composite membrane providing a durable, integrated system for use in vertical and horizontal waterproofing applications. The system protects below ground structures and elevated decks, planters and inverted roofs against water and water vapour ingress.
The composite waterproofing system is said to combine the advantages of pre-formed sheet, integrally bonded to a seamless fluid for maximum assurance. Cold-applied and primer-less, the system is also flexible, accommodating minor structural movement, and is able to bridge shrinkage cracks. Because it is a fully-adhered system, it prevents lateral water migration between the waterproofing and substrate. A high compressive strength drainage sheet is available to provide efficient deck drainage.
Procor fluid-applied membranes are two-part, self-curing, fully-adhered rubber-based waterproofing membranes. The two-component system is mixed together on site prior to use and is cold-applied to the substrate. Curing within 24 to 28 hours, Procor forms a seamless, resilient, monolithic, fully-bonded elastomeric waterproof membrane. Because of its asphalt-free formulation, Procor does not become brittle with age and remains flexible to –30 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit). It is quick and easy to apply by either airless spray or trowel.
Procor membranes are said to be ideal for waterproofing concrete, masonry and plywood surfaces below and above grade. Typical below grade applications include foundation walls, tunnels and earth sheltered structures. Typical above grade applications include split slab construction such as plaza decks, balconies, pedestrian walkways and parking decks. Procor is also ideal for green roof construction. Procor contains no volatile organic solvents, and can be used in both new construction and retrofit applications. Procor membranes meet or exceed all physical performance criteria stipulated in ASTM C836.
